Replacing Obamacare . . . It’s Simple . . . Really

I’m a physician and I know how to replace Obamacare.  I’ve been a physician for almost 30 years.  So listen up, it gets good.

So this will be the first of many bitter pills those liberal Democratic losers will have to swallow.  Obamacare will be repealed and replaced.   You can bet on it.  And better get used to it.   . . . so the circus begins.

On Capitol Hill this week, the Obama clowns Chuck Schumer and Nanci Pelosi came out in force to try to save Obamacare.   Obama accompanied them to the Hill.  These three stooges are the most partisan, Democratic losers ever to be witnessed.  You can call them Moe, Curly and Larry or Bo, Petunia and Chucky.

Bo, Petunia and Chucky traveled to Capitol Hill to try and save Obamacare. What stooges.

The battle cry:

Are you ready to make America sick again?  Repealing Obama care will lead to total chaos.  And where is the replacement plan?

Obama is also chiming in and saying that he will stay on even after he is out of office to lend “a voice”  as a private citizen to keep Obamacare alive.  Sure. Whatever.

Trump is tweeting the Republicans should distance themselves from the Democrats because Obamacare will likely implode by its own weight.

I was watching CNN with Anderson Cooper and his discussion with a 4 person panel on Obamacare.  It was hard to watch.

This included  Christine Quinn, Errol Lewis, Jeffrey Lord and Kirsten Powers.   All Lord could do was laugh at the rebuttals by the pro-Obamacare kooks on the panel.

Quinn, who formerly served as the Speaker of the New York City Council, was particularly annoying sitting like bookends at either end of the table with Powers.  The two Democratic, pro-Obama supporters had only one response about the proposed repeal of Obamacare:

Where is the replacement plan?

I don’t think they did their homework.  Surprising coming from two well know Democratic pundits.

This seems to be the new theme now that most everyone knows.   Obamacare will be repealed and replaced once Trump is in office. There was no viable discussion from the panel on what is actually wrong with the plan or the replacement plan.  It was just “why” is Mike Pence on Capitol Hill discussing the repeal of Obamacare.

Powers, who was the Democratic Party staff assistant with the Clinton-Gore presidential transition team in 1992,  kept honing in the point of what will Obamacare be replaced with and why haven’t the Republicans now come up with a plan?  She seems to think the Republicans will just kick the can down the road another four years without another plan in place.

Most Democrats think that once Obamacare is relealed, Republicans will just kick the can down the road for another four years and leave people without a replacement plan. They couldn't be further from the truth.
Most Democrats think that once Obamacare is repealed, Republicans will just kick the can down the road for another four years and leave people without a replacement plan.  You will hear Democrats continue to call on “where is the replacement plan?” ad nauseam this month.  They couldn’t be further from the truth.

Errol Lewis weighed in and repeated that there will likely be a lot of finger-pointing and posturing by Democrats. He does point out that parts of Obamacare may remain, which Trump has already supported. This includes the antidiscrimination clause of Health insurance that can’t deny people coverage for preexisting conditions. Also, keeping children on their parents insurance plans until 26 years of age. He eludes that Obamacare has been catastrophic to the health care market.

Lord points out that Tom Price, an orthopedic surgeon and staunch critic of Obamacare, will likely be the one person wrecking ball for Obamacare.  It may be easier than that.  The  house owned by Republicans only need a 52 person vote for repeal.

Price was recently appointed head to the Department of Health and Human Services. He will assume command of the government’s largest social programs: Medicare and Medicaid.  He will also have wide authority over agencies like the Food and Drug Administration, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Institutes of Health.

It was pure genius of Trump to appoint a surgeon to oversee the Department of Health and Human Services in this country.  No one knows the quirks and failures of Obamacare and its impact on the healthcare system better than a doctor.

The whole CNN sideshow was such a waste of time.  A replacement plan has already been set in place called the  Empowering Patients First Act—which is the most detailed of all the Republican proposals to replace Obamacare.  CNN and the Democrats fail to mention it.  In fact, this is the most favored plan by Price and will likely replace Obamacare promptly.

The new plan is genius.  It improves on what is already in place and scraps the dreaded income-based subsidy system that is killing healthcare.  This will be replaced by age-based tax credits, opening the healthcare market to younger, healthier individuals.  Remember, one of the killers of Obamacare is the dwindling healthy policy holders because of poor coverage and non-specific, across the board benefits, leaving old and unhealthy people in the pool.   This is a system doomed to failure.  As we all know in the healthcare system, it’s the healthy individuals who keep the system afloat.

Also, unnecessary benefits weighed in heavily.  Remember people paying for childcare and OB coverage as a senior.   What about paying for contraceptive procedures, etc.   Doesn’t make much sense.  In short, Obamacare mandated too big a benefit package, which kept premiums high and thwarted enrollment, especially by young, healthy individuals.  This will change with the new plan.

At its signing into law in March 2010, many chanted "Nancy! Nancy! Nancy! and Joe Biden to Bo aside and said, "Mr. President, this is a big fucking deal!". It's been a disaster from the day it launched.

Obamacare was signed into law in 2010 and launched in 2013.  It was a disaster from the start.  Obamacare failed because it allowed people to sign up once they got sick or were already ill.   It placed a huge burden on an already broken system.  All policies in the Obamacare system suffered and began dropping out. It’s economics,  plain and simple.

And now, many of the 22 million are the most sickest patients on the planet because they couldn’t get insurance in the first place.  Is this fair.  Probably not, but it’s a matter of economics.  The crux is that many physicians saw the insurance companies as the problem, not the government.  But it was the government who decided to take it over and not address the increasing healthcare costs and distribution.  We kept yelling:  It’s the insurance companies, stupid!  Nobody listened.

Another failure was that the penalties for going uncovered where too low compared to the cost of premiums.  And premiums kept going up.  The financial result:  Skip Obamacare.

Obama should have taken a course in economics and he may have fared far better.  But Obama is a career politician, a lawyer and bottom dweller.  Don’t expect him to understand supply and demand.  You can say that a lot of Obamas policies are stupid, but that’s another post.  He has lied to the American people that the plan works and is working.

Obama has been lying to the American people that Obama care works. It doesn't work and has failed miserably. Don't be bamboozled by his slick talk. Everything he claims is working with Obamacare is a complete lie.
Obama has been lying to the American people that Obamacare works. It doesn’t work and has failed miserably. Don’t be bamboozled by his slick talk.  Obamacare is based on an income-based subsidy system that is killing healthcare. This includes imposed mandates that is sucking the life out of Healthcare. Obamacare will be replaced by age-based tax credits, opening the healthcare market to younger, healthier individuals. There will be flexibility in the healthcare market.  Other improvements will include a free market and being able to shop for healthcare across state lines.  Job-killing employer mandates also will be scraped improving the business environment and eliminating a penalty on business growth.  Obamacare has not only destroyed the delivery of healthcare, it has also penalized businesses, stifled business growth and increased our national debt through subsidies.

The result from all of this:  Premiums are going to increase by 22% in 2017 and in some states more.  Insurance deductibles will continue to get so high that most people will never be able to use their insurances, so they will continue to skip it.  Benefits will continue to get cut.  Can you imagine when a simple physical will not be covered anymore?   Contrary to what Obama and his idiots on Capitol Hill say, we have more uninsured people in this country than ever before.   And this will only get worse.  Yes, the Affordable Care Act designed to insure the uninsured is not working.

Thank God for Trump and the Republican controlled congress to stop this mess.  This was one of the key points to Trump getting elected.  And the Democrats continue to scratch their heads in that confused and stupid partisan look.

Many people think that the 22 million or so people who have Obamacare will suffer or get left behind once it’s scrapped.  The Democrats will also be repeating this ad nauseam in the coming weeks.  CNN even did a follow-up piece on how the Coal Miners will lose their Black-Lung death benefits once Obamacare is repealed.  Another CNN media spin.

There will be changes made to the ACA and improvements.  But it will likely be scraped altogether.   It will be repealed and replaced as Trump has promised.  What people fail to see is that it will not happen abruptly or chaotically.  Under a new plan, we’ll call it the Trump Plan, healthcare coverage will again thrive and premiums and deducible will begin to decrease and stabilize.

To fix the present system there has to be more flexibility.  More variety in types of plans.  Let insurers offer a wider range of plans so that consumers, not lawmakers, politicians and  bureaucrats dictate what’s best.  Trump has taken the first step by nominating an insider to oversee our national healthcare system.

The new system should protect those who carry continuous coverage and not coddle those who jump in and out of healthcare plans and allow them to enter the market when their health needs change.

Democrats continue to scratch their stupid, partisan heads on how Donald Trump got elected. 2 simple words: Obamacare stupid!
Democrats continue to scratch their stupid, partisan heads on how Donald Trump got elected. Two simple words: Obamacare stupid!

A new system also should scrap the job-killing Obamacare mandates imposed on companies to discourage hiring (remember that Obamacare forced companies with over 50 employees to cover each one).   What this did in the work place is force many employers to hire part-time employees.  This way they didn’t have to incur the huge cost of insurance coverage.  It also forced many companies to lay off workers.

This also impacts doctors and their businesses.  On the physician side, scraping Obamacare will stop the mandates that have really hurt practicing physicians.  We can focus more on patients and not have to see 50 patients in one day to just stay afloat.  We can spend more time with patients than paperwork.

What most people don’t realize is that Obamacare has affected the way pharmaceuticals are regulated and dispensed.  It has effected how prosthetics, implants and simple screws and plates to fix a fracture is regulated.   Not only that, many physicians have just hung up their shingle in frustration or gone to a direct-pay system getting out of the insurance business altogether.  Many will refuse to even do hospital call anymore because of the lost revenue.  That is why when you go into a hospital, you may see a Hospitalist instead of your own doctor.  The list of troubles go on.

The greatest benefit in the new system will be bringing health insurance into a competitive market again.  Gearing subsides to age-based tax credits and an open, across state-line market.   Instead of gearing subsidies to incomes, let Americans not covered by an employer receive tax credits to help finance their insurance purchases.   Bring competition back to the insurance market to lower costs.   And, again, allow insurers to sell policies across state lines.  Imagine the pricing competition and improvement in benefits.

It’s simple . . . Really.
